If a patron finds an item in this collection that he/she disagrees with, there is an appeals process for each item in question. The item in question needs to be brought to the director’s attention, and a signed request for consideration needs to be made in writing. The director will then take the item to the library board at the next scheduled meeting, where the board will review it and make a decision on its placement. The decision of the library board will be final, regardless if the item remains in the collection or is removed. Once an item is challenged, the decision stands for a period of two years.
