Library Cards Policy

Library cards are free to any resident of the South Central Library System who will follow the agreed upon rules and regulations. A new card is issued when an application is filed out at the local library, and acceptable identification is shown, as in a driver’s license or state ID card, and proof of address, as in a utility or phone bill. If the patron is less than 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian is required to accompany the child to the library and sign the application as well. The card and all charges applied are the patron’s responsibility, unless the patron is under the age of 18, where a parent or guardian will be held responsible.

If a card is lost, a replacement card can be obtained for a fee of $1.00, at this same time the lost card will be deactivated, so no fraudulent use may come of it.
